Sadhguru Reveals Near-Death Experience and What Led to Second Brain Surgery

 Spiritual leader and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev recently opened up about the shocking incident that led to his second brain surgery in March 2024. In a personal video shared on Instagram titled  ‘Sadhguru’s Second Brain Surgery – Undisclosed Details’ , the 67-year-old described how a seemingly minor accident became life-threatening. He recounted an incident involving a monkey while he was swimming with his daughter. A monkey approached their house, trying to enter for fruit. His daughter shouted to scare it away, but the monkey charged at her. Instinctively trying to protect her, Sadhguru rushed inside to grab a stick but accidentally slammed his head into a closed glass door at full speed. While the monkey fled, the force of the impact caused severe internal injury. Doctors later discovered massive bleeding beneath the skull, although outside the brain tissue. Students of Podar World Schools celebrated the National Unity Day by making a large-sized cut-out with a message of ‘U for Unity’


 

30th October 2021: National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st October since 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India–Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year marks the 145th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter and an ace politician. To comemorarte this momentous occasion, students of Podar World Schools across India made a cut-out on a cloth with a message of ‘U for Unity’ written using their handprints at their campus. Students from 8th to 12th standards had participated in making this unique formation, as a part of celebrating this day.  


Explaining about the unique initiative, Mr Raghav Podar, Chairman, Podar Education said, “Sardar Patel played a major role in the integration of India (Ek Bharat) by bringing over 560 princely states under one fold. He always believed that the safety and preservation of these states as well as of India rested on unity and mutual cooperation between its different parts. By common endeavour, we can take the country to new greatness, whereas lack of unity will expose us to fresh calamities. We wanted to convey this ethos of him to our students and hence thought of coming out with this initiative. They will not only have a real-time experience but also will be able to imbibe many soft skills like creativity, teamwork, leadership, communication and a few others”.

 Amid ongoing India–US trade discussions, India's Commerce Ministry has opposed a clause proposed by the United States that would prevent India from reintroducing digital taxes like the equalisation levy in the future. This development comes as India attempts to ease US concerns over high tariffs and show willingness to cooperate on trade reforms. In March 2025, the Indian government had suggested removing the equalisation levy on digital ads as part of the Finance Bill amendments. However, legal advisers to the Commerce Ministry now advise negotiators not to accept the US's current demand, as it imposes an obligation only on India. According to insiders, the US proposal lacked mutuality—it asked India to commit to not applying digital service taxes but made no such commitment from the American side.   Date:  July 1, 2025 BJP has appointed  Ravindra Chavan , a prominent Maratha leader and four-time MLA from Dombivali, as its new Maharashtra state president. His elevation comes at a time when the party aims to strengthen its organisational base and reduce dependency on allies before the 2029 Assembly elections.
